I’m Cindy Scharkey, a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and nearly 40 years of experience in healthcare. My journey as a Certified Childbirth Educator, OB/GYN nurse, speaker, and educator has consistently brought me face-to-face with the silence and shame that surround women’s sexuality. I’ve seen how often women feel disconnected from their bodies, unsure of their desires, and uncertain about how to talk about sex—even in their most intimate relationships.
My passion is to change that.
I’m here to help women reconnect with their bodies, cultivate curiosity, and experience sex as something to enjoy, explore, and embrace. Whether you're seeking more desire, working to overcome shame, or learning how to feel at home in your own skin, I want you to know: you're not alone, and you are normal.
Through my podcast Permission for Pleasure, educational workshops, and speaking engagements, I create honest, supportive spaces where we can talk about real experiences without judgement and education backed by science. Together, we explore how to build emotional and physical connection, learn to untangle the roots of things no longer serving us, and develop a more loving, empowered relationship with our bodies, sex and pleasure.
I also have a heart for helping parents. I believe that when adults are educated and confident about their own sexuality, they’re better equipped to guide their children through healthy conversations about puberty, sex, and relationships—free from fear and misinformation.
My work is rooted in both professional expertise and a lifetime of real-life experience. Married to the love of my life for almost four decades, we raised three incredible daughters. I approach this work not as someone who has all the answers, but as a woman who knows how empowering it is when we stop being silent and start giving ourselves permission.
